On September 7 th , eight Citizens First Bank offices throughout Bowling Green, Glasgow, Horse Cave and Munfordville officially became German American Bank offices. “We are very excited about the expanded products and services now available to meet personal and business banking needs in our community,” explains Carla Wuertzer, Hart County Market Executive.
The merger was announced in February and Todd Kanipe, President & CEO of Citizens First, stated at the time, “We are very pleased to partner with a quality institution like German American, which has a demonstrated commitment to the community bank business model, centered around exceptional customer service. Through this business combination, we will be able to offer an improved suite of products to our existing customers and continue to build relationships across our market geography.”
According to German American Bank Chairman and CEO Mark Schroeder, the bank opened in 1910, “in an Ohio Valley community rich in German – American heritage.
