Hart County Health Department
The Barren River Health Department (BRHD) serves residents of eight counties including Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson, and Warren Counties. In Hart County, BRHD staff includes a clinical services team, an environmental staff, a home visiting team, and a SAPO Team. The county is also served by three Teams located at the District Office, which cover Communicable Disease, Health Promotion, and Health Information. Specific services include:
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SERVICES: On-Site Sewage Systems, Food Service Inspections, Environmental Leadership Team, Community Safety Issues, Rabies Assistance, Radon Awareness.
PREVENTIVE CLINICAL CARE: School Health Services, Clinical Community Outreach, Childhood and Adult Immunization, Cancer Screening, Communicable Disease Screening, Family Planning and Prenatal Care, Bowling Green-Warren County Primary Care Center.
COMMUNITY HEALTH IMPROVEMENT: Health and Data Information, Community Health Planning, Building Community Planning Partnerships, Implementing Actions for Positive Change, Working with the Entire Community for Better Health.
PREVENTION PROMOTION: Chronic Disease Information, Communicable Disease Tracking and Prevention, Lifestyle Improvement Programs, Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs, Teen Parent Assistance, Workplace Prevention First, HIV/AIDS Resources.
